David Kroll & HEARTLAND at the TRI-STATE RODEO

(September 2006)
Playing at the Tri-State Rodeo this year was a weekend David Kroll
& Heartland say they'll never forget. "The energy
from the crowd of over 2000 was unbelievable!" said
David. Saturday night after Blake Shelton performed, David and
the band hit the stage for the second night in a row. Billy
Yates joined them on stage for a few songs and sang his
CMA Award Winning song, I Don't Need
Your Rockin' Chair recorded by George Jones.
Yates and his family traveled all the way from Nashville to attend
the rodeo. While on stage, he announced to the crowd that David
was going to be a star someday. "That meant alot, coming
from a guy who is so successful in the music business"
said David. "It was an honor sharing the stage with him."
David Backstage at the Grand Ole
Opry
After the rodeo weekend, David headed home to Nashville with the
Yates' family to attend George Jones' 75th birthday
at the Grand Ole Opry. Billy took David as his guest and got to
be backstage the entire show. Little Jimmy Dickens, Sammy
Kershaw, Dierks Bentley, Joe Nichols, Allison Kraus+Union Station,
Billy Ray Cyrus, Craig Morgan, Joe Diffie and
Tanya Tucker all performed some of Jones' classic hit
songs. Even George Jones' himself got up to sing one at the end
of the night. The show was aired on GAC September 16th.
David's Records His Songs At CASTLE STUDIOS
(June 2006)
Since January, David has been making trips to Nashville to write
with Grammy n ominated
singer/songwriter, Billy Yates. Billy
Yates owns his own publishing company, Smoking
Grapes. It is a brand new company that he and another
friend have started. David was more than honored to help kick
off the new company with two of his songs. "It was a dream
come true, working with the top 'A-list' musicians in this cool
studio and hearing our songs come to life" said David. Their
session was recorded in an old castle called "Castle
Studios".
David and Billy co-wrote the song "That Girl".
The other song, "What Makes a Man a Man"
was written by David, Billy, and songwriter, Mark Irwin.
